Giving

Christian giving is central to Christian living. It is part of our grateful response to God's incredible kindness to us - an integral part of our Christian discipleship.

"But since you excel in everything - in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you - see that you also excel in this grace of giving. I am not commanding you, but I want to test the sincerity of your love by comparing it with the earnestness of others. For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich." 2 Corinthians 8:7-9

God is encouraging us to excel in our 'Christian giving' by thankfully and joyfully being effective stewards of our finances. In doing so we will meet the opportunities and challenges that face us as a church.

Those visiting our church are under no obligation to give.

Where does the money go?

  • Clergy and staff salaries
  • Maintenance of property
  • Our obligations to the Diocese
  • Part of our support for our Mission Partners

How can I give?

If you would like to give to Holy Trinity there are a number of ways you can do that.

  1. Be a regular giver by setting up a standing order
  2. Give when you visit the church on a Sunday - we do not take a collection but have an offering box
  3. Contact Julia Durbin in the church office, who can put you in touch with the Church Treasurer.

A prayerful encouragement in Scripture

"Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not relunctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work." 2 Corinthians 9:7-8
